Welcome to
Kindergarten
Teaching Kindergarten is both a responsibility and a privilege. My goal for Kindergarten is to provide students with a safe and secure learning environment where they feel comfortable to discover, explore, experiment and achieve their best. It is my mission that Kindergarten children will become independent, self-confident, curious learners who can work well with others. This will be accomplished by creating purposeful and productive play and learning experiences that help children grow in all areas.
We all need someone who inspires us to do better than we know how!
What to Expect
In Kindergarten, children develop the cognitive, social-emotional, self-regulatory, and foundational academic skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Meet Ms. Russell
Hi, my name is Stacey Russell and this will be my 21st year teaching at Quogue School. I am so lucky to be doing something I absolutely love. I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I hold a Masters degree in Elementary Education; I am also certified to teach in the field of Special Education and Reading. I was the Resource Room /Special Education teacher for grades Pre-K - grade 2 for 12 years. I am lucky to have 12 years of special education experience which I incorporate into my daily teaching. In addition, I have had the opportunity to teach PreKindergarten and am currently the Kindergarten teacher.
All of these experiences have helped foster my love of teaching. We live in East Quogue and are excited to be a part of such a wonderful community. We have a little girl named Faith who is simply the love of our life. We are having an absolute blast with her. I am an avid reader and love to share great books with my students. I enjoy going to the beach and spending time with my family and our dog Hazel. I am committed to providing children with learning experiences that foster their cognitive, social and emotional development. I absolutely love teaching and am very excited about the school year.
