Special Education

The Quogue School District provides an extensive range of educational services and supports for students with special needs within our district. These include a full range of services to all children ages 3 to 21 in the areas of Special Education, Section 504 Accommodations, Counseling, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. Provided is a broad array of supplementary aids and services to support students' educational needs as well as a continuum of programs and services for children with disabilities. In compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) and in alignment with the district’s goal of helping students meet or exceed high achievement standards, our school adheres to the guidelines of providing a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE) for students with special needs.

The District is committed to “child find” to locate, identify and evaluate children with disabilities age 3-21. If you know a child who lives within the boundaries of the Quogue School District who may be in the need of special education and/or related services, please contact the Special Education Office for further information regarding the referral and evaluation process.
