Dear Fourth Grade Families, My name is Mrs. Jayne, and I would like to welcome you to 4th Grade! I hope you have had a great summer and are ready to get back to school and learn. There are a lot of fun activities and lessons planned that will challenge you both academically and socially. We are going to have a fantastic year together!
What to Expect
My goal this year as your child's teacher is to provide a positive, nurturing and high-quality learning environment for all students. I will help the students reach their full potential, while developing independence, cooperative learning skills, and ultimately learning how to become lifelong learners.
Meet Mrs. Jayne
This will be my twelveth year teaching at the Quogue School and I am looking forward to being your child's fourth grade teacher! Before I had my own classroom here at the Quogue School, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant in both the 4th and 5th grade classrooms. Prior to these experiences, I was a 6th grade teacher at Our Lady of the Hamptons in Southampton, and then became a 3rd and 5th grade teacher in the Sachem School District. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education Pre-K-6, from Mount Saint Mary's University in Maryland and a Master's Degree in Literacy, grades 1-6, from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. In addition, I have also received a certificate for Students with Disabilities, grades 1-6.
On a personal note, I live with my husband Nathan, my two children, Olivia and Ryan and our dog Phoebe. In the summer, you will typically find us at the beach or spending time with family and friends. I have so many fun activities planned and cannot wait to get started teaching with this year's fourth grade class! Enjoy the remainder of the summer. I look forward to hearing all about it.
